Overview

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Sr. Associate, Structural Engineer (Stress) to join their Aeronautical Systems Engineering team in Greenville, Texas. In this role, you will analyze aircraft structures using classical and finite element analysis methods, ensuring compliance with airworthiness requirements while contributing to the design and development of aircraft modifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of aircraft structure using classical hand analysis and finite element methods.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to develop modifications and installations.
  • Generate free body diagrams and calculate internal loads and stresses.
  • Develop structural tests and document results.
  • Manage work to stay within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Document structural analysis in reports.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree with two years of structural analysis experience or equivalent experience.
  • Strong skills in classical and finite element analysis.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance.
  • Experience with MSC Nastran, Femap, NX, and Teamcenter.
  • Skilled in automating calculations using VBA or other programming languages.
