Overview

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Sr. Associate, Structural Engineer (Stress) to join their Aeronautical Systems Engineering team in Point, Texas. This role involves performing structural analysis of aircraft structures using both classical techniques and finite element methods, ensuring designs meet airworthiness requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of aircraft structure using classical and finite element analysis methods.
  • Generate free body diagrams and calculate internal loads and stresses.
  • Collaborate with design engineers on aircraft modifications and installations.
  • Develop structural tests and post-process results to establish strength data.
  • Document structural analysis in formal reports for compliance with airworthiness requirements.
  • Manage personal workload to stay within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Travel to and from flight lines and work in aircraft hangar environments.
