Job Description

Overview

L3Harris is looking for a Senior Associate in Export Classification to join their Wescam Inc. Engineering team in Waterdown, Ontario. This role involves providing technical expertise to ensure compliance with export regulations and supporting the jurisdiction and classification determination of commodities and technical data being exported or imported between Canada and the U.S.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct export jurisdiction and classification reviews for commodities and technical data under relevant regulations.
  • Support the Export Commodity Jurisdiction and Classification Request processes.
  • Review supplier and OEM classifications, documenting classification for export/import.
  • Maintain records and documentation for compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with compliance audits and assessments.
  • Stay current with training requirements and regulations.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements.

Required skills

  • Deep engineering product analysis and technical concepts understanding
  • Good organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to comprehend detailed regulations
  • Research proficiency in both technical and regulatory/legal environments
  • Ability to interpret and follow complex instructions
  • Experience with OCR EASE
  • Strong technical knowledge of Wescam products
  • Working experience in the aerospace/defense industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence others
