Job Description

Overview

The Sr Analyst of Financial Planning and Analysis at Pilot Flying J is responsible for leading financial analysis and research projects within the midstream assets and transportation divisions. This role involves managing the annual budgeting process, long-range planning, and forecasting, while providing insightful analysis to support informed business decisions for senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead analysis and research on projects in midstream assets and transportation divisions
  • Manage the annual budgeting process and long-range plans
  • Update weekly forecasts and provide analysis for leadership
  • Guide leadership on key budget assumptions and manage budget uploads using Oracle
  • Identify trends in historical financial performance and communicate findings to leadership
  • Prepare month-end financial reports and commentary on performance drivers
  • Assist users with FSM navigation and functionality
  • Collaborate with operations teams to analyze challenges and implement solutions
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and regulations

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in financial analysis, planning, and reporting
  • Expert knowledge of Excel
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting and database systems, including Tableau
  • Advanced understanding of data analytics and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management and multi-priority handling
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
