Overview

Retirement Clearinghouse is seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join their team in Charlotte, NC. This full-time position offers a hybrid work opportunity, requiring in-office attendance every Tuesday. The role involves managing SQL database setups, optimizing SQL code, and collaborating closely with application support and development teams to implement changes and maintain enterprise standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle technical requests from end users of RCH products and systems
  • Analyze data quickly to determine root causes of technical issues
  • Install and configure SQL database setups
  • Implement database schemas, tables, and views following best practices
  • Adhere to Enterprise Query Standards
  • Collaborate with development and application support teams on data changes
  • Review and modify queries for scalability and efficiency
  • Migrate changes through development lifecycle stages
  • Optimize and tune SQL code using execution plans and tools
  • Create and maintain database documentation and operational procedures

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • 2+ years of experience with MS SQL Server administration
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Always ON Availability Groups
  • Experience with T-SQL and PowerShell
  • Ability to evaluate SQL queries using execution plans and DMVs
  • Experience with data warehousing tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
