Job Description

Overview

The Sprinkler Service Technician at Fire Safety and Protection (FSP) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of automatic sprinkler systems. FSP seeks individuals who are dedicated to protecting lives and property with high-quality fire safety solutions, while valuing teamwork and precision. The role requires technical skills in reading blueprints and maintaining compliance with industry codes.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications for sprinkler systems
  • Measure and cut pipes, and install them using various fittings and connectors
  • Install valves, alarms, and other components of the sprinkler system
  • Test systems for leaks and ensure proper functionality
  • Perform routine maintenance and replace worn or damaged components
  • Troubleshoot and repair sprinkler systems, recommending solutions to complex problems
  • Communicate with customers for project updates, questions, and issue resolution
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and prepare necessary reports
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment

Required skills

  • Experience in installation and maintenance of automatic sprinkler systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Knowledge of piping, fittings, and connectors used in sprinkler systems
  • Commitment to safety and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting heavy equipment
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program in sprinkler fitting or related field may be required
