Job Description

Overview

The Sprinkler Fitter at Fire Safety and Protection (FSP) will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of automatic sprinkler systems. This role requires working with various components to ensure proper function and compliance with safety regulations, while also providing exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications for sprinkler system layout and installation.
  • Measure and cut pipes to required lengths, and install using fittings and connectors.
  • Install valves, alarms, and other components of the sprinkler system.
  • Test systems for leaks and ensure functionality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and replace worn or damaged components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair sprinkler systems.
  • Communicate with customers to provide updates and resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and prepare necessary reports.
  • Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

Required skills

  • 3+ years of independent field experience in Fire Protection Systems
  • Experience with installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems
  • Valid driver's license
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety practices
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical labor
