Overview

Fire Safety and Protection (FSP) is seeking a dedicated Sprinkler Fitter to join their team in Alabaster, Alabama. The role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of automatic sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and delivering high-quality workmanship to clients. Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications for sprinkler system installation
  • Measure and cut pipes to required lengths and install using various fittings
  • Install valves, alarms, and other sprinkler system components
  • Test systems for leaks and ensure proper functionality
  • Perform routine maintenance and replace worn components as needed
  • Troubleshoot and repair sprinkler systems, providing solutions to complex problems
  • Communicate with customers and stakeholders for project updates and issue resolution
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes and regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and prepare reports as needed
  • Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment

Required skills

  • Minimum 3 years of independent field experience
  • Experience with Fire Protection Systems and components
  • Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license and positive attitude
  • Ability to follow direction and work independently
  • Proficient in reading and understanding construction blueprints
  • Strong problem-solving skills, both independently and as part of a team
  • Physical capability to perform labor-intensive tasks and work in confined spaces
