Overview

Fire Safety and Protection (FSP) is seeking a Sprinkler Fitter to join their team in Pensacola, Florida. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of automatic sprinkler systems, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. FSP is committed to providing continuous training and values the contributions of military veterans.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications for sprinkler system installation.
  • Measure and cut pipes to required lengths for installation.
  • Install valves, alarms, and other components of sprinkler systems.
  • Test sprinkler systems for leaks and functionality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and replace worn or damaged components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair sprinkler systems, offering solutions to complex issues.
  • Communicate with customers and stakeholders regarding project updates and issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including labor and materials costs.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

  • 3+ years of independent field experience
  • Experience with Fire Protection Systems and components
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Valid driver's license
  • Intermediate sprinkler layout understanding preferred
  • Ability to complete maintenance and work records accurately
  • Problem-solving skills in a team and independently
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements
  • Ability to lift 70+ lbs and perform physical labor in confined spaces
  • Flexibility to work unusual positions such as climbing and working in heights
