Overview

Fire Safety and Protection (FSP) is seeking a skilled Sprinkler Fitter to join their team in Pensacola, Florida. This role is focused on the installation, maintenance, and repair of automatic sprinkler systems, ensuring they function correctly and comply with safety standards. FSP values customer relationships and offers a supportive culture for employees, including those with military backgrounds.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics for sprinkler system installation.
  • Measure and cut pipes to required lengths for installation.
  • Install valves, alarms, and other components of sprinkler systems.
  • Test systems for leaks and ensure proper functionality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and replace worn or damaged components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair sprinkler systems, providing solutions to complex problems.
  • Communicate with customers and stakeholders for project updates and issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and prepare reports as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.

Required skills

  • 3+ years of independent field experience
  • Experience with Fire Protection Systems and components
  • Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license
  • Customer service skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Capacity for physical labor, including lifting 70+ lbs
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety practices
