Overview

The Sports Based Youth Development Specialist - Assistant Coach at Urban Dove Team Charter Schools will leverage their passion for sports and youth development to positively impact the lives of at-risk youth. This role involves using sports as a medium to help students re-engage with their academic career while providing essential life skills through a supportive and structured environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise students during meals, dismissal, and school-wide events
  • Monitor student transitions and behavior throughout the school
  • Assist in coordinating special events
  • Initiate communication with families and deliver messages as requested
  • Conduct daily one-on-one check-ins with students
  • Engage in aggressive student outreach to ensure attendance
  • Provide academic and socio-emotional support and feedback
  • Work with parents/guardians to involve them in the students' academic journeys
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress
