Job Description

Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Life Care Center of Port Orchard provides direct rehabilitation care in speech therapy to patients as per physician referral, working within a skilled nursing facility environment. The role involves participating in an interdisciplinary team to support a diverse patient population, focusing on both long-term and short-term care.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct rehab care in speech therapy to patients
  • Establish, assess, and modify therapy goals
  • Liaise with patients, families, and support departments
  • Chart therapy sessions appropriately and timely
  • Utilize therapy software accurately
  • Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Participate in community health projects as appropriate

Required skills

  • Graduate of an accredited speech therapy program (MS or MA SLP)
  • ASHA certification or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
  • Current state registration/licensure
  • One year of experience preferred (new grads welcome)
  • CPR certification (current during employment)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing post-acute care facilities
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
