Job Description

Overview

As a Specialty Pharmacy Liaison at CPS Solutions, part of Optum, you will engage directly with patients to coordinate pharmacy services and enhance their experience within the health system's specialty pharmacy. Working under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will collaborate with the Patient Care Services team to ensure patients can access their prescribed medications and receive the necessary support throughout their treatment.

Key responsibilities

  • Explain the benefits of specialty pharmacy services to patients.
  • Assist with enrolling patients into the specialty pharmacy program.
  • Complete benefits investigations, prior authorizations, and financial assistance tasks.
  • Coordinate with pharmacy team members for timely processing of patient orders.
  • Provide direct patient support through outbound adherence and refill reminder calls.
  • Assist with inbound patient inquiries and route clinical questions appropriately.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active Pharmacy Technician license in Ohio
  • Recent work experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Proficient in pharmacy systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of medication regimens and managed care practices
  • Experience with prior authorizations and data entry
