Job Description

Overview

As a full-time Specialty Pharmacy Liaison at Optum, you will coordinate pharmacy services between patients, providers, and the pharmacy. Your role will focus on improving prescription capture, providing patient counseling, and ensuring effective communication, all aimed at enhancing patient outcomes in healthcare settings.

Key responsibilities

  • Engage with patients to explain the benefits of the specialty pharmacy and manage their enrollment in the program
  • Perform insurance benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and handling claim rejects
  • Assist patients in obtaining financial aid and ensuring access to necessary medications
  • Conduct data entry and verify patient information
  • Provide direct support to enrolled patients throughout their therapy regimen
  • Conduct outbound calls for patient support, adherence checks, and refill reminders
  • Triaging clinical questions to appropriate healthcare professionals
  • Participate in conferences and workshops to promote CPS services

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to register as a pharmacy technician in Montana
  • Experience in healthcare settings, interacting with physicians and nurses
  • Experience as a pharmacy liaison or technician
  • Knowledge of benefit investigations and prior authorizations
  • Experience in specialty pharmacy and financial assistance programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EMR systems (EPIC, Cerner, Meditech), and dispensing systems (QS1, RX30, Computer Rx)
