Overview

Sonora Quest Laboratories is seeking a dynamic and strategic Specialty Gen Lab Manager to oversee laboratory operations in Phoenix, Arizona. The successful candidate will lead a team to drive process improvements, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with industry regulations while fostering a collaborative environment focused on quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and evaluate departmental staff; ensure ongoing development and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to develop and manage departmental budgets.
  • Ensure laboratory compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead process management initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Serve as a communication liaison to ensure accurate information dissemination.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science
  • Four years of experience in high-complexity testing
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)
  • Understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean
