Overview

Olymel is seeking a Process Specialist to join their dynamic team in Boucherville, Quebec. The role focuses on innovating and developing production processes, chains, and equipment to meet customer needs while optimizing production efficiency and workshop organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Determine project feasibility by developing initial concepts and estimating budget and timelines
  • Collaborate with clients and project managers to define project scope and specifications
  • Develop innovative solutions in response to client needs and project constraints
  • Select and coordinate the required technical team based on project needs and complexity
  • Work closely with project managers in managing project activities
  • Provide expert advice on processes throughout the project lifecycle
  • Serve as the technical authority for the projects
  • Coordinate and participate in quality assurance activities (FAT, SAT, Commissioning)
  • Collaborate in developing and maintaining design standards
  • Engage in technological monitoring in construction, mechanics, and processes in the food sector
  • Participate in knowledge transfer through reference tools or mentoring

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related technical training in the agri-food sector
  • 5 years of experience in the agri-food sector
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles in an industrial environment
  • Fluency in English and French, both spoken and written
  • Ability to work with precision and attention to detail
  • Ability to take relevant actions autonomously when situations require
  • Strong collaboration skills and capacity to contribute to a positive work climate
  • Project management knowledge is an asset
