Job Description

Overview

The Specialist, Quality Engineering at L3Harris Technologies is responsible for supporting product quality across development, launch, and manufacturing operations. This role involves advanced quality planning, launch readiness, and production support, with an emphasis on ensuring compliance with quality standards and implementing corrective actions in a cross-functional environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the Quality Manager with quality assurance process issues
  • Compile and analyze quality performance data and prepare reports
  • Lead or support Zero Defect Program (ZDP) activities
  • Conduct PFMEA, CAR, and RCCA processes for quality issues
  • Coordinate with various teams to support quality initiatives
  • Participate in APQP activities throughout the product lifecycle
  • Support product launch readiness activities and reviews
  • Investigate deficiencies to determine causes and corrective actions
  • Prepare corrective action documentation and metrics
  • Conduct quality assurance and process audits
  • Travel to support audits, launch activities, and issue resolution

Required skills

  • Proficient knowledge of quality assurance processes
  • Experience with APQP and launch quality activities
  • Knowledge of PPAP requirements
  • Structured root cause methodologies (8D, PFMEA, RCCA)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt designation
  • Quality Assurance, Auditing, and Investigation experience
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across organizations
  • Strong organizational skills
