Overview

L3Harris is seeking a Specialist, Project Engineer with a focus on leading product launch initiatives within the WESCAM division. This role involves project management across various engineering disciplines, ensuring successful product development for defense and military sectors through effective collaboration and technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide project leadership and technical guidance for product developments
  • Coordinate and lead design stage gate presentations
  • Align cross-functional teams for New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Maintain project risk registers and implement mitigation plans
  • Forecast project timelines and budgets, ensuring adherence
  • Lead investigations into product failures using root cause analysis
  • Present monthly reliability metrics and project updates to leadership
  • Participate in bids and proposal processes with engineering inputs
  • Coordinate engineering changes and lead technical assessments

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with minimum 4 years of experience
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including MS Project
  • Strong technical communication skills
  • Project organization and planning expertise
  • Understanding of electro-mechanical, optical, and video systems
  • Experience using Atlassian Confluence and JIRA
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with mechanical/electrical design terminology
  • Experience in aerospace industry and project management
  • PMP Certification and P.Eng license preferred
