Overview

The Illinois Association Of School is seeking a Part-Time Special Education Teacher to deliver one-on-one instruction to students at Brightmont Academy. This role focuses on using provided curriculum and adapting teaching methods according to each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP), allowing educators to work closely with students in a nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one instruction tailored to individual student needs
  • Utilize the APEX Learning curriculum and make necessary accommodations
  • Focus on building student confidence and academic success
  • Collaborate with a case manager to handle administrative duties

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree and LBS1 certification
  • Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Emotional Disturbance (ED), and Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD)
  • Proficiency in G-Suite and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Excellent patience and empathy in teaching
