Overview

The Special Education Teacher at Care Options for Kids is responsible for creating inclusive learning environments for students with diverse needs in a school-based setting. This role focuses on adapting general education curriculum and providing tailored instruction to support academic, social, and emotional growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Adapt general education curriculum for students with mild to moderate disabilities
  • Deliver core academic and foundational instruction to students with more intensive needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Implement individualized strategies for student success
  • Manage classroom effectively and provide ongoing support
  • Support clear expectations aligned to IEPs and district standards

Required skills

  • Experience as a Special Education Teacher
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Degree in Exceptional Student Education or Special Education preferred
  • Active General Teaching License with Special Education Endorsement in Ohio
  • Strong organizational and instructional planning skills
  • Ability to adapt curriculum for diverse learning needs
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
