As a Special Education Teacher at The Calais School, you will:Design and adapt engaging lessons to meet the needs of students with mild to moderate learning, emotional, and behavioral disabilities.Provide instruction in whole-class, small-group, and individualized settings.Assess student abilities, strengths, and areas for growth, using data to guide instruction.Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to ensure each student's success.Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusivity, and positive behavior.Support students in developing both academic and life skills that prepare them for success beyond the classroom.Communicate regularly with families to celebrate progress and provide meaningful updates.
