Job Description

Overview

Duke Health is seeking a MFM Sonographer for their Wilmington location, where the individual will perform diagnostic OB/GYN ultrasound examinations and assist in clinical procedures. This role is part of a commitment to delivering compassionate care and improving patient outcomes through advanced medical imaging and collaborative teamwork.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic OB/GYN ultrasound examinations independently
  • Assist physicians in invasive procedures like amniocentesis and CVS
  • Identify, record, and adapt procedures during sonographic exams
  • Analyze sonograms and communicate findings to physicians
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during examinations
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment, work area, and supplies
  • Assist in training new sonography students

Required skills

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
  • BLS certification
  • ARDMS OB/GYN and Fetal Echocardiogram certification (required within 12 months)
  • Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (desirable)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to perform clinical assessments
