Overview

The Sonographer II at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital provides on-call support in General Ultrasound, performing diagnostic procedures using ultrasound technology. The position entails producing quality images for interpretation and requires the sonographer to hold multiple registrations relevant to their department.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients
  • Set up and adjust equipment for examinations
  • Implement safety standards and conduct quality control
  • Assist in various imaging procedures
  • Ensure proper functioning of equipment and report malfunctions
  • Submit high-quality images and documents to PACS
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the department
  • Comply with regulatory agency standards
  • Work in a safe manner and remain alert
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Completion of a Sonography program
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with multiple specialties
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification (BLS HCP)
  • Experience in diagnostic imaging and patient care
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks frequently
