Job Description

Overview

As a Sonographer I at SSM Health, you will perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to provide quality images for interpretation. This role involves working with various imaging technologies while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Sets up and adjusts ultrasound equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
  • Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures.
  • Performs routine and complex ultrasound studies and assists in various imaging procedures.
  • Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
  • Ensures ultrasound equipment is functional and reports malfunctions appropriately.
  • Submits high-quality images and documents to PACS accurately.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly department environment.
  • Complies with regulatory standards in all imaging procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
