Job Description

Overview

The Sonographer I at SSM Health St. Anthony Healthplex is responsible for performing diagnostic procedures using ultrasound technology to provide quality imaging for patient care. This PRN position requires the completion of a sonography program and the ability to ensure safety and compliance in the imaging department.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust ultrasound equipment and perform exams
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures
  • Perform routine and complex imaging studies
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, and pathology
  • Ensure proper functioning of equipment and report malfunctions
  • Submit high-quality images and documents to PACS
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the department
  • Comply with regulatory agency requirements
  • Perform other assigned duties

Required skills

  • Completion of a Sonography program
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification with appropriate specialty
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • Experience with ultrasound imaging and patient care
