Job Description

Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Software Security Lead - Principal Software Engineer to join their Software Security Sensors and Effectors Department in Tucson, Arizona. The successful candidate will work closely with Systems and Software Architects to ensure software security is integrated into the program's processes and customer deliverables, adhering to secure coding practices and the Software Product Assurance Command Media.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the Technical Lead and potentially the Agile Product owner for the Software Security Team
  • Own the software security implementation to ensure compliance with System Security requirements
  • Adopt and implement secure coding standards for each programming language used
  • Drive off-nominal testing by ensuring software remains secure during failures
  • Provide software assurance implementation for the Program Protection Implementation Plan (PPIP)
  • Conduct software vulnerability risk assessment on reused code and final delivery
  • Develop a Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) for final delivery

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM and 8 years of related experience
  • Experience in object-oriented software design and embedded development using C and/or C++
  • Experience with Xilinx UltraScale+ MPSoC, Versal, or similar embedded processors
  • Experience with embedded operating systems like VxWorks or Embedded Linux
  • Knowledge of software security and cryptographic algorithms
  • Understanding of secure coding principles and best practices
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
