Job Description

Overview

Raytheon is seeking a highly motivated Software Security Lead (SSL) for the Software Security Sensors and Effectors Department in Tucson, Arizona. The SSL will work closely with Systems and Software Architects and program stakeholders to embed software security in program processes and deliverables, ensuring compliance with secure coding practices and system security requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the Technical Lead and possibly the Agile Product owner for the Software Security Team
  • Ensure compliance with System Security requirements in software security implementation
  • Adopt and implement secure coding standards for all programming languages used
  • Drive off-nominal testing to maintain software security during failure conditions
  • Develop software vulnerability risk assessments on reused code and final delivery
  • Provide software assurance implementation for the Program Protection Implementation Plan (PPIP)

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 8 years of related experience
  • Experience in object-oriented software design and embedded development using C and/or C++
  • Experience with Xilinx UltraScale+ MPSoC, Versal, or similar Embedded Processors
  • Experience with embedded operating systems like VxWorks or Embedded Linux
  • Software Security and Cryptographic Algorithm experience
  • Understanding secure coding principles and implementation of best practices
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
  • Experience with validation and verification of software applications
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and interfacing with FPGAs
  • Knowledge of real-time security-oriented solutions in DoD programs
  • Experience in Agile and DevSecOps environments
  • Knowledge of modern computer architecture and hardware technologies
