Overview

Living Talent is seeking a Software Engineer Architect specializing in Equity Trading Execution in the Front Office, based in New York City. This role is a career-defining opportunity to transition into an architectural position where you'll lead a team and influence technology decisions within front office operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as a Lead technologist embedded in the front office
  • Own the relationship with business users, translating their needs
  • Architect, design, and develop EMS customizations and trading workflow integrations
  • Interface daily with front office users
  • Lead and mentor a team of 5 developers
  • Optimize end-to-end trade execution workflows across various instruments
  • Drive architectural direction focusing on microservices, cloud-native solutions, and AI-assisted development
  • Balance duties across new development, enhancements, and maintenance

Required skills

  • 5+ years in investment technology with exposure to equity trading workflows
  • Strong concepts and hands-on experience in Java development
  • Experience with EMS or OMS systems
  • Familiarity with microservices and cloud technologies
  • Comfortable communicating with traders and business users
  • Experience in mentoring or leading projects
  • Familiarity with JavaFX, React, SQL Server, VB.net, Factset, Portware, CRIMS, AWS, Snowflake, Kafka, Docker, Git Copilot
