Overview

Cerro Coso Community College is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Sociology Instructor for its Tehachapi/Rising Scholars program. The successful candidate will provide instruction across a full range of sociology courses while demonstrating a commitment to student success and equity.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in a full range of sociology courses
  • Participate in student recruitment and articulation
  • Maintain subject matter currency
  • Develop and revise curriculum
  • Use innovative learning technology
  • Assess learning outcomes
  • Participate in departmental, college, and discipline-specific professional activities
  • Teach courses across various modalities including online and face-to-face
  • Engage with incarcerated student education programs as needed

Required skills

  • Master's in sociology or Bachelor's in sociology with a Master's in a related field
