Job Description

Overview

Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc. is seeking a Social Services Coordinator for its Norwalk Early Learning Program and Norwalk Head Start. This role involves providing strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to a team of Social Services staff, focusing on comprehensive family support services to promote child and family well-being.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management to the Social Services team
  • Oversee program eligibility, enrollment processes, and ongoing compliance
  • Develop and maintain strong local community partnerships
  • Lead and coordinate parent involvement initiatives and family engagement activities
  • Support and integrate mental wellness and family support services within the program
  • Collaborate with program leadership and multidisciplinary teams to enhance service delivery
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and adherence to all applicable regulations and standards
  • Coordinate enrollment recruitment and monitor enrollment eligibility standards

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related human services field
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or in pursuit preferred
  • Experience with mental wellness or behavioral health services
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Knowledge of community-based services and early childhood or Head Start programs
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
  • Bilingual capabilities preferred
