Overview

The Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Social Services Coordinator to lead the Social Services team in Norwalk's Early Learning Program and Head Start. This role entails providing strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to enhance family support services and community partnerships, ensuring compliance and promoting child and family well-being.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management to the Social Services team
  • Oversee program eligibility, enrollment processes, and compliance with Head Start requirements
  • Develop and maintain strong community partnerships to support families' needs
  • Lead and coordinate parent involvement initiatives and family engagement activities
  • Support and integrate mental wellness and family support services within the program
  • Collaborate with program leadership and multidisciplinary teams to enhance service delivery
  • Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to all regulations and standards
  • Coordinate enrollment recruitment and monitor eligibility standards

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related human services field
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) preferred or in pursuit
  • Experience with mental wellness or behavioral health services preferred
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
  • Knowledge of community-based services and early childhood programs
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
  • Bilingual capabilities preferred
