Job Description

Overview

The SMT Process Engineer at Zentech Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the SMT process, acting as the SME. This role involves managing SMT lines for efficiency and quality, addressing operator and supervisory concerns, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Own technical process aspects of SMT manufacturing
  • Manage SMT lines for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Conduct routine line walks to support operators and supervisors
  • Validate and qualify SMT manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Develop and optimize process parameters using SPC tools
  • Lead SMT FAI review and corrective actions
  • Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews
  • Create production documentation and provide training
  • Implement engineering changes to production documentation
  • Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of direct SMT process experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced understanding of SMT theories
  • Effective multitasking and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and exercise discretion
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Working knowledge of process controls and statistical techniques
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • U.S. Citizenship status
