Overview

Lowes Foods is seeking a Smokehouse Pit Master at their Johns Island, South Carolina location. The role involves engaging guests, maintaining product quality, and ensuring a fun atmosphere within the smokehouse department. This position plays a crucial part in building community through guest loyalty and personal interactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the Pit Master and demonstrate dedication to smoked meat.
  • Engage guests and hosts in a friendly manner.
  • Ensure smokehouse staff provides exceptional service.
  • Offer freshly prepared Smokehouse samples to guests.
  • Maintain operational standards and product quality.
  • Supervise and train smokehouse staff to meet performance standards.
  • Perform meat cutting and other operational tasks as needed.
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the department.

Required skills

  • Friendly, energetic, and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to engage guests and create a fun environment.
  • Experience in meat cutting and trimming.
  • Culinary knowledge and/or background preferred.
  • Knowledge of deli and meat department operations.
  • Effective communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to work well with others and take direction.
