Overview

Lowes Foods is seeking a Smokehouse Clerk for their Johns Island location. This role focuses on providing engaging guest service while ensuring high operational standards in the Smokehouse department. The position offers competitive pay and a range of benefits within a family-owned and growing company.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide fun, friendly, and engaging service to guests
  • Engage guests through freshly prepared Smokehouse samples
  • Operate the department according to strict merchandising and operational standards
  • Ensure product quality meets Lowes Foods standards
  • Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department
  • Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, and stocking tasks
  • Maintain required HACCP product information log sheets
  • Perform light meat cutting duties as needed
  • Perform PA announcements
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management

Required skills

  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Ability to engage guests and perform in front of large crowds
  • Ability to multitask and work well with others
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Previous meat cutting or trimming experience
  • Culinary knowledge or background preferred
  • Ability to read and understand information and direction
  • Knowledge of deli and meat department operations
  • Effective communication and guest service skills
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work well with computers
