Overview

The Skilled Trade Electrician at Ford Motor Company in Kansas City Assembly is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems in a manufacturing environment. Candidates should have strong technical skills and a commitment to safety and teamwork, while also being able to adapt to varying shift schedules.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and robotic systems.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment and follow safety procedures.
  • Handle tools typical of the trade, including ladders and platforms.

Required skills

  • Completion of an apprenticeship or 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in reading hardware and ladder logic prints.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and robotic systems (e.g. Fanuc, ABB, Kawasaki).
  • Working knowledge of PLCs (e.g. Allen Bradley, Square D, Control Logix), servo controls, and variable frequency drives.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required by the trade.
