Job Description

Overview

As a Ski Lift Maintenance Mechanic I at Mammoth Mountain, you'll be responsible for the repair and maintenance of ski lifts, gondolas, and surface lifts. This position emphasizes safety and compliance with industry standards while working in a beautiful mountain environment, where free skiing and various discounts are offered to you and your family.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct repairs and maintenance of ski lifts adhering to safety standards
  • Perform daily inspections of ski lifts for safe operation
  • Collaborate with operations departments to ensure lifts run efficiently
  • Climb lift towers to inspect and repair components at heights
  • Maintain service records and documentation
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with lift components
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance procedures

Required skills

  • 1-2 years of lift maintenance experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Doppelmayr and Yan lift mechanical systems
  • Basic understanding of A.N.S.I. B77.1-2022
  • NDT certification (Level II magnetic particle preferred)
  • Rigging and signal person certification
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Fork Lift/Telehandler Certification
  • Basic electrical experience
  • Welding experience
  • Mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work at heights and in adverse weather conditions
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
