Overview

Horizon Construction Group is seeking a Site Development Field Superintendent to manage the early phases of multifamily construction projects in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This role requires a proactive leader who excels in site development, particularly in grading, utilities, and coordinating civil activities, ensuring projects start off successfully and safely.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead site development activities during the first 6 to 12 weeks of projects.
  • Coordinate civil subcontractors, utilities, survey, inspections, and daily field activities.
  • Oversee early-phase sitework including mobilization, erosion control, grading, and underground infrastructure.
  • Manage survey, layout verification, inspections, testing, and documentation.
  • Drive short-interval planning and maintain a 2 to 4 week look-ahead mindset.
  • Identify and solve field issues proactively to avoid impacts on cost and schedule.
  • Ensure high safety standards are enforced on site.
  • Support a smooth transition from sitework to foundations and vertical construction.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of field leadership experience in civil sitework or underground utilities.
  • Strong knowledge of grading, storm, sanitary, and water utility coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans and construction details.
  • Proven schedule management and coordination skills.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Experience in multifamily site development.
