Overview In this role you design and optimize DSP algorithms for on-chip, embedded deployment within Neuralink's brain-computer interface platform. You'll craft hardware-friendly, real-time signal processing methods that meet constraints on power, latency, and area, working closely with SoC, Firmware, and ML teams. You translate high-level signal processing needs into production-ready solutions and influence micro-architectures for efficient on-chip pipelines. This is a role at the intersection of neuroscience, hardware design, and software prototyping with a clear impact on device performance. You will be at the core of enabling reliable neural sensing and data throughput at-scale, shaping how we 이해 Compensation / Benefitsmedical, dental, and vision insuranceequity (RSUs)paid holidayscommuter benefitsmeals providedflexible time off ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop signal processing algorithms for sensing neural activity in the cortex (e.g. spike detection) and monitor electrode healthCreate numerical algorithms such as data compression to boost radio throughputDevelop fixed-point or quantized versions of algorithms for constrained hardwareImplement and verify algorithms in high-level languages and transition them to hardware-friendly representationsPerform algorithm-to-architecture mapping evaluating accuracy, latency, power, and resource use on the SoCsCollaborate with the digital design team to define micro-architectures for on-chip processing pipelines (dataflow, pipelining, parallelization) Key requirementsBS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Signal Processing, or related field3+ years in DSP algorithm development or real-world products with embedded/hardware-constrained implementationsStrong fundamentals in analog and digital signal processing and numerical capabilitiesFamiliarity with fixed-point arithmetic, quantization effects, and numerical precision trade-offsProficiency in Python and C for prototyping and simulationFixed-point arithmetic and numerical precision trade-offsQuantization effects in DSPPython programming for prototypingC programming for prototypingVerilog/VHDL or RTL transitionsExperience with dedicated DSP cores or accelerators
