Overview

Colgate University is seeking a part-time Shuttle Driver to operate a shuttle, bus, or van for transporting passengers around the campus and the Village of Hamilton. This role requires adherence to safety regulations, vehicle maintenance, and effective communication with passengers.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive and operate a shuttle, bus, or van to transport passengers safely
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal traffic regulations
  • Follow emergency procedures for mechanical failures, accidents, and medical emergencies
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness and fuel of the vehicle
  • Maintain scheduled routes, record incidents, and report problems
  • Provide information to students, faculty, and staff regarding shuttle services
  • Attend required training sessions and maintain CDL and certifications
  • Handle dispatch duties as needed, including answering phones and coordinating schedules

Required skills

  • 19-A qualifications
  • DOT physical examination
  • Three years of driving experience
