Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking self-motivated and organized individuals for the role of Shop Mechanic, offering positions on both 1st and 2nd shifts in Skippack, Pennsylvania. This role involves repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline vocational trucks, ensuring adherence to safety standards and completing necessary inspections.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Diagnose malfunctions by observing trucks or equipment in operation
  • Install new ignition systems and other components
  • Replace gas or diesel engines as required
  • Conduct standard maintenance and ensure compliance with state inspection requirements
  • Lubricate and service vehicles
  • Fabricate special attachments or devices according to schematic drawings
  • Complete collision repair tasks including sanding, prepping, and painting

Required skills

  • One-year certificate in diesel mechanics or related field, or 2 years of related experience
  • Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year
  • Clean driving record
  • Customer Service and Teamwork
  • Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to meet physical requirements related to the job
  • Preferred: 4 years of related experience, State Inspection license, OSHA or MSHA safety certifications
