Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking self-motivated and organized individuals for the position of Shop Mechanic for 1st and 2nd shifts in Skippack, Pennsylvania. This role involves repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline vocational trucks while adhering to safety policies and standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Read job orders and observe equipment to determine malfunctions
  • Install and align new ignition systems, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and parts
  • Examine safety devices and adjust as needed
  • Lubricate and service vehicles
  • Fabricate special equipment according to schematic drawings
  • Carry out collision repair, including sanding, prepping, and painting
  • Complete standard maintenance and ensure state inspection requirements are met

Required skills

  • One-year certificate in diesel mechanics or related field or 2 years of related experience
  • Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year
  • Clean driving record
  • Customer service and teamwork skills
  • Mathematical skills
  • Ability to utilize appropriate PPE
  • Physical capability to meet movement and lifting requirements
