Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group is seeking a qualified Shop Mechanic for their Maryland Division/HTI in Finksburg. The role involves repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline vocational trucks, ensuring adherence to safety policies and performing various maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K safety policies
  • Read job orders and diagnose malfunctions based on equipment operation
  • Install new ignition systems, change batteries, and replace transmissions
  • Examine and adjust safety devices and maintenance equipment
  • Lubricate and service vehicles
  • Fabricate special attachments and systems as needed
  • Complete standard maintenance and ensure state inspection requirements
  • Perform collision repair including sanding, prepping, and painting
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • One-year certificate in diesel mechanics or two years of related experience
  • Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year
  • Clean driving record
  • Customer service and teamwork skills
  • Mathematical skills
  • Ability to utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job
