We are currently seeking a Shipping/Receiving I to join our team.Job Summary Shipping/Receiving IImplement the Order Fulfillment Process steps related to the preparation of shipments and related documentation to ensure the complete satisfaction of the customer's requirements.Work may involve one or more of the following: knowledge of various items of stock in order to verify content selection of appropriate type and size of container; using appropriate packing material to prevent breakage or damage; closing and sealing container; and applying labels or entering identifying data on container. Workers may use bar code readers, computer terminals or other electronic devices to track product. Key Responsibilities Shipping/Receiving I Prepare product for shipment to the customer by inspecting, labeling and packaging product according to standard procedures:Review work order and shipment details for all shipments scheduled to ship and prepare for any special requirements, including HAZCOM/International shipment requirementsMatch work order/packing slip documentation to order documentation to verify all critical shipment dataConfirm correct quantity/counts against work order or packing slipMake boxes, crates or skids, may be required to operate a table saw or other hand toolsEnsure product is packed in a timely manner and protected from damage following customer specifications or internal guidelines for shipment or placement in stockOperate forklift (As needed and if certified through TGC)May be required to make deliveries and/or material transfers to customers, vendors, or internally move products using our transportation vehiclesOther duties as assigned Requirements: Qualifications and CompetenciesRequires the ability to read production or shipping documentsCommunicate with supervisor on work order priorityOpen to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of partsBasic to intermediate math skillsAbility to learn and understand drawing and blueprintsAbility to use basic measuring instrumentsAbility to operate a forkliftExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsMust be able to work overtime as neededValid driver's license (non-CDL) requiredAbility to drive flatbed truckEducation and ExperienceA High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required. Prior experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred but not required.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is/may be required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is typical of most shop environments; not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions.
