Overview

The Shipping and Receiving Manager at Metalcraft of Mayville will lead the Shipping and Receiving department, focusing on inventory control, quality assurance, safety compliance, and workflow optimization. This role encompasses scheduling, vendor negotiations, and staff management to ensure efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive incoming freight and enter data for inventory control
  • Determine work priorities and prepare work schedules
  • Assign duties and examine work quality
  • Collaborate with Home Office managers for special mailings and inventory management
  • Standardize procedures for efficient shipping and receiving
  • Analyze shipping needs to determine best methods of shipment
  • Maintain and update all shipping records
  • Negotiate with shipping vendors for optimal service and pricing
  • Perform duties of Shipping and Receiving Clerk as needed
  • Develop and maintain a well-trained staff

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years supervisory experience in shipping/receiving
  • Fluency in English
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Forklift experience
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing environments
