Overview

The Ship Clerk at Amazon.com Services LLC plays a vital role in the efficient operation of the Middle Mile network by managing daily department duties such as load planning, load flow control, and ensuring trailer utilization. This position requires effective communication with multiple shipping partners, as well as troubleshooting shipping issues to support on-time performance and safety in operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan loads around standard departure times
  • Ensure proper trailer utilization and control transportation costs
  • Correspond with multiple shipping companies and their contacts
  • Troubleshoot shipping problems and resolve errors
  • Oversee Load Flow Control and maintain performance tracking for load planning
  • Coordinate with Transportation teams on various operational issues
  • Participate in Operational Excellence initiatives
  • Train associates and ensure compliance with SOPs
  • Identify and address safety hazards in the work area

Required skills

  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours
  • Flexibility to work various schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects
  • Understanding of shipping requirements and safety compliance
