Job Description

Overview

Wegmans is seeking a passionate Shift Leader to coordinate and troubleshoot daily activities of customer service employees while participating in store management duties. This entry-level leadership role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and act as a key liaison among different teams and departments.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage store operations during day and night shifts.
  • Partner with department management to prioritize and delegate tasks.
  • Ensure efficient customer checkout operations and manage open checkout lanes.
  • Develop and manage a team of Customer Service employees.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and champion company values.
  • Quickly react to and solve operational challenges.
  • Participate in and lead special projects to enhance company culture.

Required skills

  • Customer service experience in food service, grocery, or retail.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience in leading a team (preferred).
  • Adaptability to new situations and subject matters (preferred).
