Job Description

Overview

Stewart Glass is seeking an experienced Shift Lead to oversee daily production operations in their solar glass manufacturing facility. This role involves supporting production efficiency, maintaining safety and quality standards, and leading team members to achieve operational goals during assigned shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support production employees during assigned shifts
  • Monitor production flow to ensure efficiency, quality, and output goals are achieved
  • Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and OSHA compliance
  • Conduct shift start-up meetings and communicate daily production expectations
  • Train, mentor, and support employees on production procedures and safety protocols
  • Monitor manufacturing equipment and coordinate with maintenance teams
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate production records and shift reports
  • Ensure proper staffing coverage and support attendance tracking
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with management and other teams for smooth operations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing
  • 4 year engineering degree or equivalent STEM degree
  • Experience in glass manufacturing, industrial production, or solar manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing safety standards and production processes
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced industrial environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules and reports
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed
