Overview

The Sheet Metal Fabricator at Johnson Thermal Systems is responsible for preparing, fabricating, and cutting metal products for assembly using various tools and machines. This role involves working with steel metal products for power packaging units and requires skills in machine operation and material handling.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare, fabricate, and cut metal products
  • Lay out and examine metal stock to ensure specifications are met
  • Set up and operate specialized equipment for fabrication
  • Install and align punches, dies, and fixtures in machinery
  • Study blueprints and production schedules
  • Clean and lubricate machines
  • Cross-train in welding and metalworking techniques

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years' experience in manufacturing or construction
  • 2+ years' experience operating press brake/shear
  • Forklift operation experience
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Skilled in mathematics for manufacturing tasks
  • Detail-oriented with strong quality control focus
