Job Description

Overview

The Sexual Assault On-Call Advocate is responsible for providing advocacy for survivors of sexual assault, including medical and legal support. This role requires responding to hotline calls and offering in-person assistance during medical exams, all while upholding the core values of YWCA Clark County.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide general, medical, and legal advocacy for survivors of sexual assault.
  • Respond to hotline calls within fifteen minutes during shifts.
  • Offer emotional support and relevant information to participants.
  • Document participant-related information in compliance with confidentiality policies.
  • Fulfill mandatory reporting requirements as legally needed.
  • Engage in continuing education training for sexual assault advocacy.
  • Call the Sexual Assault Program Director at the end of each shift to report on calls.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Experience working with persons in crisis.
  • Critical thinking skills related to social justice and anti-racism.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Technological skills, including use of email and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to maintain strong personal and professional boundaries.
