Job Description

Overview

The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) at Methodist Health System will provide compassionate and non-judgmental care to sexual assault victims. This role involves conducting medical-forensic exams, offering prophylaxis, documenting findings, and facilitating referrals for ongoing medical and psychological support.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide timely and compassionate care to sexual assault victims
  • Conduct medical-forensic examinations
  • Administer prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections
  • Document findings photographically
  • Assist with referrals for medical and psychological follow-up
  • Participate in legal proceedings as required

Required skills

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Valid Texas RN license
  • Current SANE certification or in-progress certification
  • Current TNCC certification
  • Two years of Emergency Department or Acute Care experience (preferred)
